Privacy notice
This notice explains how I look after any personal information you share with me through this website. It is written in plain language and follows UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
Who I am
I am Clare Burke, an HCPC-registered psychotherapist. I am the data controller for the information you send me. You can reach me at clareburketherapy@gmail.com.
What I collect, and why
If you use the contact form or email me, I receive your name, email address and whatever you choose to write. I use this only to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to arrange your sessions. I do not use it for marketing and I never sell it.
The website itself
This site is deliberately simple. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Fonts and images are served from the site itself rather than third-party networks, so ordinary browsing is not shared with outside advertisers.
How long I keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to therapy are deleted within a reasonable period. Where we do work together, clinical records are kept securely and confidentially in line with the HCPC standards and my professional obligations, and for the period those standards require.
Confidentiality and sharing
Your sessions are confidential. As set out in my FAQ, I may need to contact your GP if I believe you are at significant risk to yourself or someone else; wherever possible I will discuss this with you first.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected, or to ask me to delete it where there is no legal or professional reason to keep it. To do any of these, just email me. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
